Java comes preloaded on lots of computers.  Chances are you probably have Java installed on your PC right now and probably never
realized it.  Corporate users use Java for a lot of business related sites and portals, however home users rarely use or need Java.

So, why should you uninstall Java right now?  If you have Java installed then your chances of getting infected by a virus or having personal information stolen (like passwords) goes way up.

How Java Exploits Work:

  1. Your PC has Java installed.
  2. You get on the internet and visit some websites.
  3. One of the websites you visited was compromised by a virus and is now scanning your pc for any “holes” (vulnerabilities).
  4. The virus sees that you have Java installed and attempts to access your PC via Java.
  5. If your Java is out of date (most are) then the virus will download more viruses on your PC.  These viruses can do any number of things – steal account info, attack other computers, download more malware, etc.
