Solution: The solution for me – Start Outlook in “Run this program as an administrator” privilege level. Here’s how to do that.
- Right your Outlook shortcut (on your desktop or taskbar), then Right click Outlook 2010 (or 20o7 / 2013 if that’s what your using) and click properties.
- Click the compatibility tab.
- Check the last check box – “Run this program as an Administrator”
- Start Outlook and now you’ll be able to open the .pst that was giving you those pesky “file access denied” errors.
